Preview: Whitehall Railroaders vs. Stillwater Warriors
The Whitehall Railroaders will head out on the road to face off against the Stillwater Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Whitehall got the win against Lake George by a conclusive 41-17.
Stillwater has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 24 points or more this season. They breezed by Saratoga Central Catholic on the road to the tune of 77-38. Given Stillwater's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Saratoga Central Catholic is ranked 257th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Whitehall's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Stillwater, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Everything came up roses for Whitehall against Stillwater when the teams last played back in January of 2022 as the team secured a 44-16 win. With Whitehall ahead 31-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.
