Baseball Recap: Merritt Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Faith Christian

Merritt Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Faith Christian by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday.

Blake Madaus was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lucas Hayter, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Looking ahead, Merritt Academy will challenge New Haven at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Faith Christian, they will face off against Bethany Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give Faith Christian their first taste of in-conference action this season.
