Recap: Eagle Rock Eagles vs. Dr. Maya Angelou Community Phoenix
The Eagle Rock Eagles and the Dr. Maya Angelou Community Phoenix squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Eagle Rock Eagles had to settle for second. Eagle Rock and Dr. Maya Angelou Community were almost perfectly matched up, but Eagle Rock suffered an agonizing 42-41 loss. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Eagle Rock still got an impressive performance from Reilly Brousseau, who threw for 395 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Leal-paz, who picked up 130 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Eagle Rock has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Dr. Maya Angelou Community, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Eagle Rock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dr. Maya Angelou Community will face off against Fairfax at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th.
