Softball Game Preview: Montrose Meteors vs. Honesdale Hornets

The Montrose Meteors will head out to take on the Honesdale Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Montrose came into this matchup off a tough eight-run defeat on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Dunmore by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday. The Meteors haven't had much luck with the Bucks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Violet Conning stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. MycKenna Kublo was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Honesdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Crestwood, falling 15-1.
