Volleyball Recap: Swallows Charter Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Swallows Charter Academy can now relate to. They came up short against the Holyoke Dragons on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.

While Swallows Charter Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Holyoke's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-10, 25-12.

Holyoke found their leader in sophomore Lia Sprague, who had five aces.

Swallows Charter Academy's defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8. As for Holyoke, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 19-5 record.

Coincidentally, Swallows Charter Academy and Holyoke will both be playing Meeker the next time they take the court. The Spartans will head out to face the Cowboys at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Dragons will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
