Basketball Game Preview: Frederick Bombers vs. Mangum Tigers

Frederick and Mangum are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Frederick Bombers are taking a road trip to take on the Mangum Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Frederick sitting on four straight wins and Mangum on five.

Back in December of 2024, Frederick blew past Tipton, posting a 68-29 victory. The Bombers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mangum). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Snyder 70-41. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Cyclones are ranked 369th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mangum pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Frederick, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Frederick against Mangum when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Frederick since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
