Football Recap: Blake Takes a Loss

Blake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 31-0 defeat at the hands of the Steinbrenner Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Warriors are ranked 14th).

Megan Medina looked great while leading her team to the win, throwing for 117 yards and four TDs. Those 117 passing yards gave her a new career-high.

Blake's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Steinbrenner, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Coming up, Blake will be taking part in a tournament against Lakewood at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Spartans' defense has only allowed 12.9 points per game this season, so the Yellow Jackets' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Steinbrenner, they are taking a road trip to face off against Sickles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
