Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Isaiah Hall and Dylan Davis Lead Poteet to Victory + How To Watch

Poteet's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 55-35 margin over the Greenville Lions. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Leading Poteet to victory were Dylan Davis and Isaiah Hall. Davis gained 164 total yards and four touchdowns, while Hall threw for 194 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes. With that strong performance, Davis is now averaging an impressive 100.6 rushing yards per game.

Poteet was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 228 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Poteet didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jabari Bari Williams. Another thorn in Greenville's side was Montreal Hodge, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Poteet's record now sits at 2-3. As for Greenville, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Poteet and Greenville will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Pirates see the field they'll take on Corsicana at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. As for Greenville, their break will end when they face Ennis at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th.
