Softball Recap: Casa Roble Starts Season with Win Against West Park

Casa Roble gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the West Park Panthers. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 7-4 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Casa Roble got a great performance from Cassandra Alvarez as she pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Zaria Gee and Lilly Gonzales did most of the damage at the plate: Gee scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Gonzales scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Melanie Stephens, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Casa Roble has already played their next matchup (against Granite Bay), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. West Park will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bella Vista at 3:30 p.m. on February 25th.
