Baseball Recap: Park View Comes Up Short

Park View had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-5 to make it seven. They lost 24-11 to the Unity Reed Lions. Even if the Patriots couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Unity Reed's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last nine games.

For Unity Reed's part, the team relied heavily on Jacob Hembree - SR, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That home run was Hembree - SR's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Vasquez - SO, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.

Coming up, Park View will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Woodgrove at 6:30 p.m. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. As for Unity Reed, they are taking a road trip to challenge Osbourn at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
