Softball Recap: Oakland Catholic Comes Up Short

Oakland Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 9-3 to the Belle Vernon Leopards. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Belle Vernon this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 on April 7th.

Nina Hillard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Oakland Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Belle Vernon, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Oakland Catholic will square off against rival West Mifflin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Belle Vernon is set to take on their familiar foe Laurel Highlands at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
