            The Newton Rams will take on the Mount Vernon Mustangs at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Newton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3  runs per game  this season.
Newton blew Archer out of the water the last time the pair played, but  on Friday Archer got their revenge. The Rams fell just short of the Tigers by a score of  2-0. Having soared to a lofty 13  runs in the game before, the Rams' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

 Newton's loss  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 15-11. As for Mount Vernon, they now  have a winning record of 10-9.
