Basketball Game Preview: Mead Raiders vs. Elmwood-Murdock Knights

The Mead Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Elmwood-Murdock Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mead has three straight wins, Elmwood-Murdock has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Monday, Mead humbled Sterling with a 79-26 victory. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Mead relied on the efforts of Isaac Couch, who went 11 of 18 on his way to 25 points and three steals, and Tytus R Lee, who went 7 for 9 en route to 15 points along with six assists and six boards. Those six assists gave R Lee a new career-high. Tony Engel was another key player, going 5 of 9 to rack up 10 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Elmwood-Murdock came up short against Johnson County Central on Tuesday and fell 64-53. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly 11 points.

Elmwood-Murdock's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Mead, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Mead came up short against Elmwood-Murdock in their previous meeting last Tuesday, falling 62-50. Can Mead avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
