There's no place like home for Cannelton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Christian Academy of Madison Defenders by a score of 44-33 on Saturday. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cannelton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylie Anastasiades, who posted 19 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Anastasiades has scored at least a third of Cannelton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Hale, who put up 11 points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Despite the loss, Christian Academy of Madison still got an impressive performance from Lindsey Gross, who had eight points and nine boards. Gross has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Cannelton moved to 1-7 with that victory, which also ended their eight-game losing streak. As for Christian Academy of Madison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Cannelton will be taking part in a tournament against Columbus Christian at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Christian Academy of Madison, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-38 loss against Crothersville on the 9th.
