Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Academy Eagles vs. Leavitt Hornets

The Lincoln Academy Eagles will face off against the Leavitt Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lincoln Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Medomak Valley, who was ranked second at the time (Lincoln Academy was ranked 19th). Lincoln Academy was dealt a 65-35 defeat at the hands of Medomak Valley on Friday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Leavitt hadn't done well against Erskine Academy recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Leavitt came out on top against Erskine Academy by a score of 50-41.

Leavitt has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Lincoln Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Everything came up roses for Lincoln Academy against Leavitt in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 76-28 victory. Will Lincoln Academy repeat their success, or does Leavitt have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
