Softball Recap: Warsaw Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Warsaw dropped their record down to 17-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Concordia Fighting Orioles by a score of 1-0. The Wildcats were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the four matchups prior), but the Fighting Orioles' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Concordia, they pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.5 runs.

For Concordia's part, the result came thanks to Olivia Hemme's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 16 Ks. Hemme has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Concordia's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kynleigh Abney, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Coming up, Warsaw will be playing at home against Tipton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Concordia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
