Baseball Recap: Bayside Find Success

Bayside never let their opponents score on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Indian River Braves 1-0.

Barry Farias Jr looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bayside's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tayden Jackson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was Jackson's first of the season.

Bayside's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Indian River, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayside will host First Colonial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Indian River, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Smyrna at 4:15 p.m.
