Basketball Recap: Cedar Creek Takes a Loss

Cedar Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by the Crockett Cougars 51-23. The Eagles were down 40-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Crockett found their leader in sophomore Lauren Smith, who went 8 of 16 en route to 18 points and seven steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Osaigbovo, who posted eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals.

Cedar Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Crockett, they pushed their record up to 16-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Cedar Creek will welcome Bastrop at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Crockett, they will venture away from home to square off against Anderson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
