Softball Recap: Apple Springs Comes Up Short

Apple Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 16-3 to the Neches Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 last Tuesday.

Apple Springs saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faith Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Apple Springs' loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Neches, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

While Apple Springs had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
