Basketball Recap: NCSSM: Morganton Takes a Loss

NCSSM: Morganton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Owen Warhorses, falling 76-55. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 634th, while the Warhorses are ranked 289th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Owen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Asante Martin, who went 6 of 14 en route to 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Martin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Lewkowicz, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points and six boards.

NCSSM: Morganton's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Owen, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.

NCSSM: Morganton will welcome Mitchell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Owen, they will square off against Avery County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
