Volleyball Game Preview: Vail Christian Saints vs. Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans

The Vail Christian Saints will venture away from home to square off against the Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Vail Christian is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 13, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against D'Evelyn, falling 3-0. The Saints have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Vail Christian took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Aurora West College Prep Academy made easy work of Addenbrooke Classical Academy on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Aurora West College Prep Academy took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-12, 25-12.

Vail Christian better focus on containing Erick Uriarte and Adrian Arellano as the pair were huge in Aurora West College Prep Academy's win. Uriarte had three digs and three aces, while Arellano had 11 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Arellano a new career-high.

Aurora West College Prep Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Vail Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
