The Covington Trojans will face off against the Seeger Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Covington knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Seeger likes a good challenge.
Covington barely beat Crawfordsville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans put the hurt on the Athenians with a sharp 18-8 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Caydence Peaslee, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Taylor Martin was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Covington hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Seeger suffered their closest loss since April 24, 2025 on Saturday. They fell just short of Westville by a score of 5-3. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lyla Badger and Lainie Serie did some serious damage despite the final result: Badger went 2-for-3 with four RBI, while Serie went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Serie is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Stephen, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Covington is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Seeger, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Covington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Seeger struggles in that department as they've averaged .353. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Covington might still be hurting after the 18-1 loss they got from Seeger when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
