Basketball Game Preview: Evansville Memorial Tigers vs. Plainfield Quakers

The Evansville Memorial Tigers will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Plainfield Quakers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Last Tuesday, Evansville Memorial came up short against Vincennes Lincoln and fell 59-49.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Plainfield against Harrison on Saturday as the squad secured a 61-33 victory. The Quakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Evansville Memorial better keep an eye on Berkeley Williams. She was instrumental in Plainfield's win, going 7 of 11 on her way to 19 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Menser, who posted nine points.

The win made it two in a row for Plainfield and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Evansville Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Evansville Memorial was able to grind out a solid victory over Plainfield when the teams last played back in January of 2015, winning 66-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Evansville Memorial since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
