Basketball Recap: Andrews Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Andrews won the last time they faced Kingstree, and Vincent Rhue did his part to make sure it happened again. The Andrews Yellowjackets walked away with a 39-27 victory over the Kingstree Blazers on Saturday thanks in part to Rhue, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 18 points and five steals. Rhue is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Cumbee, who posted four points along with nine boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

Andrews' win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4. As for Kingstree, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Andrews will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Myrtle Beach at 8:30 p.m. on December 27th. Kingstree and Lake City will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake City will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Kingstree surely won't give up without a fight.
