Basketball Game Preview: Northside - Pinetown Panthers vs. North Duplin Rebels

The Northside - Pinetown Panthers will challenge the North Duplin Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Northside - Pinetown sitting on 18 straight wins and North Duplin on nine.

Northside - Pinetown is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 83-43 victory over Washington County. Northside - Pinetown has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 games by 23 points or more this season.

Olivia Jane Cahoon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 14-for-25 to rack up 37 points along with eight boards and seven assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Northside - Pinetown's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Scheffler, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Northside - Pinetown was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, North Duplin was able to grind out a solid win over Gates County on Friday, taking the game 58-45.

Northside - Pinetown's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.6 points. As for North Duplin, their win bumped their record up to 23-4.
