Basketball Recap: Rockvale vs. Blackman Blaze

After flying high against the Siegel Stars last Monday, Rockvale came back down to earth. Rockvale's rough 49-23 loss to the Blaze on Thursday might stick with them for a while. Having soared to a lofty 73 points in the game before, Rockvale couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the loss, Rockvale saw an underclassman step up: Isabella Wright scored eight points.

Blackman was led to victory by Kaelyn Flowers and Lyriq Mastin. Flowers scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Mastin scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Mastin hasn't dropped below three steals for five straight games.

Rockvale has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Blackman, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.
