Baseball Recap: Lexington Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Gibson, Lexington was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Jackson South Side Hawks a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted against the Hawks since March 19, 2019.

The result came thanks to Logan Hayes's shutout, as he gave up just seven hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lexington is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Owen Foster was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Lexington's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Jackson South Side, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season.

Lexington will have a chance to go back-to-back against Jackson South Side: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday.
