Baseball Recap: Niwot Takes a Loss

Niwot was the 4-2 winner over Fort Morgan when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell 4-1 to the Mustangs on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly three runs.

Niwot saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arlo Richards, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Niwot has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Fort Morgan, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10.

Coming up, Niwot will square off against Wheat Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars are facing the Farmers at the right time seeing as the Farmers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. Fort Morgan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
