Softball Game Preview: Walden Grove Red Wolves vs. Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks

Walden Grove is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Monday. They will head out on the road to take on the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Walden Grove was handed a 14-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Eastmark, sneaking past 8-6.

Meanwhile, Ironwood Ridge had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 8-3.

Walden Grove is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Ironwood Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
