Football Recap: Ridgeview Starts Season with Victory Against Woodburn

Ridgeview took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-0 win over the Woodburn Bulldogs. That's more bragging rights for the Ravens, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ridgeview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Deuser, who rushed for 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Gage Hobbs was another key signal caller, throwing for 181 yards and three TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ridgeview was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 304 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeview is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against McNary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodburn, they will square off against Crescent Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
