Preview: Perkiomen Valley Vikings vs. Quakertown Panthers
The Perkiomen Valley Vikings''s homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Quakertown Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Perkiomen Valley gave up the first points last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 28-21 win over Phoenixville.
Xavier Nunez was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Nathan Reedy and his 93 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Perkiomen Valley's win.
Meanwhile, Quakertown had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They managed a 21-17 win over Upper Dublin. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Quakertown was the (much) better team in the second half.
Quakertown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Vince Micucci, who rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 127 yards and a touchdown.
Perkiomen Valley's victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.8 points per game. As for Quakertown, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Perkiomen Valley beat Quakertown 35-28 in their previous matchup back in November of 2020. Does Perkiomen Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Quakertown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
