Basketball Recap: Crosspoint Christian Wildcats vs. Northwest Christian Wolverines
Crosspoint Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 57-44 to the Northwest Christian Wolverines. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-42 on January 2nd.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwest Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniel Babber, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists. The match was Babber's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jack Vahey, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 14 points and seven boards.
Crosspoint Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Northwest Christian, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.
A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Crosspoint Christian Wildcats take on the Sound Christian Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sound Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Crosspoint Christian likes a good challenge. As for Northwest Christian, they will square off against Evergreen Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
