It was another big night for BJ Gardner, who rushed for 105 yards and four scores. He has become a key player for Farmville Central: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. The Jaguars also got a significant boost from Bryant Dixon, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Farmville Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 335 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 232 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Farmville Central's defense and their three sacks. Tysean Langley was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
Meanwhile, James Kenan took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-26 win over Ayden - Grifton. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
James Kenan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Zamarion Smith and David (Cito) Zeleya. Zeleya is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 19 games he's played dating back to last season.
Farmville Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for James Kenan, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Farmville Central has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 249.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like James Kenan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 276.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
