Wilton is 2-7 against Norwalk since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Warriors will square off against the Bears at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Leianna Cross made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Emma Roos was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Sofia Samai was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
Wilton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Norwalk not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 14, 2024. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over Bethel. The Bears have beaten the Wildcats the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.
Like Wilton, Norwalk also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddie Collins. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. Collins was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Norwalk let Ally Lanzarotto and Maggie Donahue run wild. Lanzarotto scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Donahue scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Audra Lacomis, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Wilton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Norwalk, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
Norwalk's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wilton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371.
