Volleyball Game Preview: Parkway West Longhorns vs. Affton Cougars

For the first time this season, Parkway West will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Affton Cougars at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses dating back to last season for Parkway West and three for Affton.

Parkway West came up short against Mehlville on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

While Parkway West was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-22, 25-20.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Affton took on Oakville on Tuesday. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

While Affton had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 21-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Affton's loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Parkway West, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Parkway West might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Affton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Longhorns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
