Football Game Preview: Chatfield Chargers vs. Grandview Wolves + Official Tickets

The Chatfield Chargers will venture away from home to face off against the Grandview Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Chatfield after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost to Columbine at home by a 24-7 margin. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cash Williams put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 64 yards and one TD, and also threw for 188 yards on 15 of 31 attempts.

Meanwhile, Grandview faced Cherry Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wolves were dealt a 52-15 defeat at the hands of the Bruins. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-6.

Despite the loss, Grandview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Timothy Arnold III picked up 134 receiving yards and one touchdown. Arnold III really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards. Blitz McCarty was another key player, having thrown for 290 yards and onetouchdown.

Chatfield's record now sits at 4-6. As for Grandview, their record is now 5-5.

Chatfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Grandview in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, winning 37-28. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
