Volleyball Recap: Monticello's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Monticello had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a set and slipped past the Gillespie Miners 2-1.

Emerson Snook paced Monticello's offense, picking up 11 kills. Snook got some help from Addison Finet and her 16 assists. Finet was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Monticello now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Gillespie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Monticello wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Macomb on the 14th. As for Gillespie, they will venture away from home to square off against Pawnee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
