Basketball Game Preview: Buford Yellow Jackets vs. Richard Winn Academy Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Buford Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to face off against the Richard Winn Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 77-45, which was the final score in Buford's tilt against Cheraw on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets haven't had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Richard Winn Academy entered their tilt with Wardlaw Academy on Monday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They blew past the Patriots 68-45. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Buford's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Richard Winn Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Buford didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Richard Winn Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Buford since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
