Dunsmuir comes up short despite Michael Kellar's dominant performance

The Dunsmuir Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Happy Camp. Dunsmuir has struggled against Happy Camp recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Dunsmuir lost, one person who can't be blamed is Michael Kellar. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Kellar scored a full 61.7% of Dunsmuir's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Desean Pistorius was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Happy Camp's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luis Osorio, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jason Day, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Dunsmuir's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Happy Camp, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Dunsmuir will head out on the road to face off against Tulelake at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Tulelake is ranked 1356th, while Dunsmuir is ranked 1360th). Happy Camp will be home for the holidays to greet Hayfork at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
