Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Union walked away with it. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over Tupelo Christian Prep on Monday. Winning may never get old, but West Union sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Grant Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gavin Foley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Jake Foreman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.

West Union pushed their record up to 19-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Tupelo Christian Prep, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-10.

As of now, neither West Union nor Tupelo Christian Prep have any future games scheduled.
