The Faith Christian Patriots will take on the St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Thursday, Faith Christian made easy work of Wayne Country Day and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won four in a row.

Faith Christian was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-4, 25-18.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas More Academy got the win against Carolina Friends on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: St. Thomas More Academy took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-5, 25-12.

Faith Christian better focus on containing Cecilia Dornan and Mary Frances Watkins as the pair were huge in St. Thomas More Academy's win. Dornan had five aces, while Watkins had four aces and three digs. That's the most aces Watkins has posted over her last six matches. Paulina Meyring also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

St. Thomas More Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

St. Thomas More Academy's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Faith Christian, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
