Softball Recap: Eastlake Victorious

It's playoff time, and Eastlake had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the El Capitan Vaqueros by a score of 7-2 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Titans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Addison Suriano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits.

At the plate, Mackenzie Olshenskie was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bri Ayap, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Eastlake and bumps their season record up to 18-11-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for El Capitan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-15.

Coincidentally, Eastlake and El Capitan will both be playing Steele Canyon the next time they take the field. The Vaqueros will host the Cougars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Titans will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
