Basketball Recap: Arts & Tech Comes Up Short

Arts & Tech lost against Mt. Clemens back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Arts & Tech were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 37-36 to the Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Arts & Tech came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Mt. Clemens is ranked 520th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mt. Clemens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaidah Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards Williams has posted since back in January of 2024. Leah Williams was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Arts & Tech dropped their record down to 4-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mt. Clemens, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arts & Tech will square off against Summit Academy North at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Academy North will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Arts & Tech surely won't give up without a fight. Mt. Clemens has already played their next contest (against Academy for Business & Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
