Softball Recap: Thomson Bulldogs vs. Briarwood Academy Buccaneers
After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Thomson finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They fell 5-1 to the Briarwood Academy Buccaneers. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Thomson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Topanga Lewis, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Thomson's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Briarwood Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomson will take on Toombs County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Briarwood Academy, they will play host again on Monday to welcome Glascock County, where first pitch is scheduled at 4:00 p.m.
