Bernstein moved up to 827 from 863 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Central. The Dragons climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Hollywood 36-8.
Contreras and Roybal played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Contreras eventually emerging with a 12-10 victory.
Torres's dynamic duo of Joey Verduzco and Christian Lazo proved tough for Belmont to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Verduzco threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns and Lazo had 62 yards receiving. David Frontanez helped Torres' passing attack out by catching two balls for 37 yards.
Irwin Hernandez was the most productive running back in the league this week. In eight carries, he ran for 75 yards as the Sentinels bested the Sentinels. Teammate Jose Escalante added to the ground attack by rushing for 57 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Verduzco of Torres is the league leader in passing yards this season with 860. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, the Sheiks' Ronald Clayton has rushed for 1144 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Sam Morales. The Hollywood star has 23 catches for 559 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Bernstein takes on second place Roybal. Bernstein bested Hollywood last week, while the Titans fell to the Cobras.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Roybal takes on Masaki Matsumoto's team. Frank Galvan's team has allowed 171 points this season, while the Dragons have given up 150. The Titans allowed 12 points last week as they lost to Contreras.
Bernstein led the league in scoring this week after putting up 36 points on Jim McElroy IV's team.
