Volleyball Recap: Lugoff-Elgin Wins Going Away Against West Florence

Lugoff-Elgin won the last time they faced West Florence and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Demons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Knights.

Lugoff-Elgin not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept West Florence between 16 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 25-16.

Haylee Roberts paced Lugoff-Elgin's offense, picking up 16 kills. Roberts got some help from Dannine Newton and her 19 assists. Finally, Bri Williams kept Lugoff-Elgin's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Despite the defeat, West Florence saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ansley White had 23 digs.

The victory got Lugoff-Elgin back to even at 2-2. As for West Florence, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Lugoff-Elgin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Camden on the 3rd. As for West Florence, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against St. James on the 3rd.
