Softball Recap: Richwoods Knights vs. Midwest Central/Illini Central Raiders

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Danville, Richwoods was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Midwest Central/Illini Central Raiders as they made off with an 11-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Kayla Carver made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Carver was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Richwoods got a big performance out of Addison Morrissey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Emersyn Carley was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Richwoods hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Richwoods' record is now 4-15. As for Midwest Central/Illini Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
