Baseball Recap: Ruidoso Takes a Loss

After flying high against Capitan last Tuesday, Ruidoso came back down to earth. Ruidoso lost 13-3 to the Robertson Cardinals on Monday. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 5-2 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ruidoso saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joel Ortega, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Ortega has posted since back in May of 2024. Josiah Saiz was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Ruidoso dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Robertson, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ruidoso beat Robertson by a score of 5-2 later that day.
