League recap: Bray overpowering for Cleveland in past week

4A Region 3 league recap: 4/3/13

Trace Bray was the best pitcher in 4A Region 3 this week, leading Cleveland. Over the past week, he racked up two wins and 17 strikeouts.

Matt Ray had the hottest bat in the league this week, racking up a .571 average with eight RBIs. The Wildcats compiled a record of 4-0 in that time.

Cleveland stole 22 bases this week, adding to its league-leading 49 steals on the year.

The league boasted nine .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Peyton Ellzey, who hit .667 this week (2-for-3).

Bray was the top pitcher this week as he paced the league with two wins and 17 Ks.



Peyton Ellzey drove in four runners on Tuesday in Yazoo County's 19-3 victory over Amanda Elzy. He went 3-for-4 and scored three runs.

Gentry's Armond Wyms struck out 12 Greenwood hitters en route to an 8-6 victory on March 26. He gave up four hits and six runs over seven innings of work.
