Preview: Decatur Eisenhower Panthers vs. MacArthur Generals
Decatur Eisenhower is 0-10 against MacArthur since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Decatur Eisenhower Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the MacArthur Generals at 5:30 p.m. Decatur Eisenhower is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses.
Decatur Eisenhower suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 66-36 loss at the hands of Springfield. While losing is never fun, Decatur Eisenhower can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while Springfield is ranked 123rd).
The losing side was boosted by Oniya Reed, who scored 16 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points.
Meanwhile, MacArthur was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 51-47 to Rochester. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for MacArthur in their matchups with Rochester: they've now lost four in a row.
Decatur Eisenhower has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for MacArthur, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.
Decatur Eisenhower came up short against MacArthur when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 55-46. Can Decatur Eisenhower avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
